Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What makes the Battlers different from other tipping services?

​We’re not about short-priced “safe” tips. The Battlers specialise in finding value — long-priced horses that the market underrates. Our strike rate sits around 7–10%, but the average winner price is $19–$22. That means when we win, we win big. It’s not about chasing constant collects, it’s about long-term edge and big profits. 

 

2. What does POT mean, and why is it important?

POT = Profit on Turnover. It’s the most important metric in punting. Strike rate means little if you’re tipping favourites at $2. Our POT best  across packages that can sit between 40%–70%+,

 

3. Why do you recommend Win bets over Each-Way?

Each-Way looks “safer,” but our data shows it consistently underperforms Win-only betting. Place dividends are too small at long odds, and over time they drag down returns. Win betting delivers fewer collects but far greater profit.

 

4. Why do you prefer Best Tote SP (BTSP) over Fixed Odds?

Because bookies cut off fixed odds if you’re sharp. BTSP is available to everyone, every time. Long-term results prove BTSP beats fixed odds due to drift.. No stat padding — just reality.

 

5. What is the Battler Rating (BR)?

We are not looking for the most probably outcome, we are looking for the outcome that represents value, so that long term we can win. Each tip comes with a Battler Rating (between 1-20) , this score is based its likelihood to win versus the price on offer. 

 

6. What are ‘Best Bets’ and ‘Best KO’?

• Best Bets: Our highest confidence, value selections.

• Best KO (Knockout): A roughie that can blow the race wide open at massive odds.
  Both are clearly marked in every set of tips.

 

 

7. Do you ever tip more than one horse in a race?

Yes, but rarely. About 80% of races have one tip only. Occasionally we’ll play two if both represent serious value (e.g. a $15 and a $26 shot). What we don’t do is tip three or four short-priced horses in the same race like many other services.

9. How do I stake my bets?

We recommend staking using our Battler Rating (BR) scale. Example: if BR = 5, you place 5x your unit (say $10 per BR → $50 bet). This aligns your staking with confidence, maximising profits. Flat staking works too, but long-term you’ll leave money on the table.

 

10. What if there’s a run of placings or no winners?

Variance is part of punting. Our strike rate is intentionally low because we’re targeting big odds. Runs of outs are expected, but history shows the flips always come — often in huge carnival fill-ups. Patience + consistency = long-term success.

 

11. Do you profit from Group 1 races?

Yes. We focus heavily on Group 1/2/3 races and carnivals. Many members play only our feature race bets and still clean up.

 

12. Why do you say ‘avoid multis’’?

Because bookie margins compound. A 115% market becomes 200%+ in a multi. Our edge lies in single-leg value bets. If you are going for a multi leg bet we suggest traditional bets such as Quaddies, Quinellas, Trifectas etc.

Yes. No lock-ins, no tricks. Cancel anytime r by emailing support. We want long-term Battlers, not people trapped by subscriptions. That is why we NEVER auto renew. We earn your respect.
